We are not the masters of our fate neither as individuals or as a
nation. How can people boast that they control their own destiny
when they cannot control a virus, invisible even under powerful
microscopes?
Our nation was founded by people of prayer and moral values.
When our government was in the process of being formed, Benjamin Franklin addressed the chairman of the Constitutional Convention
meeting in 1787, saying, "I have lived, Sir, a long time, and the longer I live, the more convincing proofs I see of this Truth: That god governs
in the affairs of men. And if a sparrow cannot fall to the ground without His notice, it is probable that an empire cannot rise without His aid."
Today our nation and the world is being carried on a rushing river of immorality and sin that is sweeping us out of control. There is but one
power available to redeem the course of events, and that is the power of unified prayer by God-fearing, Christ-believing people.
Abraham Lincoln, our beloved and legendary president, during the tumultuous days of the Civil War, said, "I have been driven many times to
my knees by the overwhelming conviction that I had nowhere else to go. My own wisdom, and that of all about me, seemed insufficient for
the day."
Would that our leadership were as humble today.
One such virus, that cause hepatitis, can knock down thousands of people. This deadly virus of
sin that is sweeping across this nation is smothering the very life out of us.
History testifies that the Great Creator God shaped this nation's course and not man alone.

I'm reminded about the story of a man in a car who stopped to ask an old black man the way to a certain street. When the man told him the
way, the driver asked doubtfully, "Is that the best way?"
The old man replied, "That is the only way!"
There is only one way to stop this deadly virus and that is to return to our first love as Rev 2:4-5 says, "And be obedience to God's holy word."
"Nevertheless, I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love."

"Remember, therefore, from where thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works, or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove
thy lamp stand out of its place, except thou repent!"
The Bible teaches that worldliness is a force, a spirit, an atmosphere of the cosmos, that is in complete opposition and in contradiction to all
that is godly and Christian.
Its goal is selfish pleasure, material success, and the pride of life, it is ambitious, self-centered, God is not necessarily denied; He is just
ignored and forgotten.
The Bible is clear that the world's inhabitants are either under the influence of this world with its cunning deception and spell; or they are in
Christ and under direction of the Holy Spirit of God.
There is no neutral ground.
The line is drawn by the holy word of God, The Bible whether you like it or not.
I love what Paul said in Eph 2: 2-7, "Wherein time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power
of the air, the Spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience."
Among whom also we all had our conversation in time past in the lust of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind: and where
by nature the children of wrath, even as others.
But God, who is rich in mercy for His great love where with He loved us, even when we were dead in sins hath quickened us (made us alive)
together with Christ, "By grace ye are saved."

And hath raised us up together and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus: That in the ages to come He might show the
exceeding riches of his grace in His kindness toward us through Christ Jesus. (His only begotten son)
Now the words "course of the world" carry the meaning current or flow.
There is an undertow, a subtle current, which runs against and in contradiction to the will and way of our Great Creator God.
Its eddies are deep and treacherous. They are stirred and troubled by Satan himself and are intended to trap and ensnare those who would
walk godly in Christ Jesus. Satan employs every device at His command to harass, tempt, thwart, and hurt the people of God. His attack is
relentless.
Paul wrote in Eph 6:12, "For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of darkness of
this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places!"
This is part of this deadly virus that is sweeping across this nation of immoral values and the turning away from our Creator God.
However, the Christian who has a spiritual backbone is not left defenseless in this conflict. God provides the power to give us victory over
Satan and His ever doers. (Read Eph 3:16)
Paul said in Romans 8:37, "Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him that loved us."
And in I John 4:4, John writes, "Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is He that is in you than He that is in
the world." (Praise his name)
The Holy Scripture commands us in Eph 5:18, "Be filled with the spirit." To be filled with the spirit is not optional. It is a command to be obeyed,
a duty to be done.
It is only consecrated, spirit filled Christian who can have victory over the world, the flesh and the devil. It is the Holy Spirit who will do the
fighting for you. (Eph 6:12)
Only if we become channels and let the Holy Spirit of the Great Creator do the fighting through us, are we going to get complete victory.
In II Timothy 3:1-5 Paul says, "This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lover of their own selves,
covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy without natural affection, truce-breakers, false teachers,
incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, traitors, heady, high-minded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God. Having a
form of Godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away."
As citizens we must vote and participate in political affairs, we are to participate in civic activities, and most importantly, we are to be loyal
and faithful to the church.
However, we are not to compromise with the world, the flesh, or the devil. In other words, we are not to participate in the sins of the world.
There are certain things which the warrior of the church must say no to in politics or in the work place or any other place.
We should refuse to support anything which does not meet with the approval of our Christian conscience, and that would grieve the Holy
Spirit of our Creator God.
There are thousands of people of our nation of the free and the brave that are professing Christians who are betraying their Christian
heritage and Christian principles because they are more concerned for the world's approval than the commendation of our Lord Jesus.
Casual Christians have little or no influence upon others. Only the Christian who refuses to compromise in matters of honesty, integrity, and
morality are bearing an effective witness for Christ.
The worldly Christian is prepared to do as the world does and will condone practices which are dishonest and unethical, because He is
afraid of the world's displeasure.
It is only the life of obedience to the voice of the Holy Spirit, and by daily dying to oneself and by full dedication to Christ Jesus with constant
fellowship with him, are we enabled to live a godly life and have a positive influence in this present ungodly world.
Jesus said in John 17:14, "I have given them thy word; and the world hath hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of
the world."
Again I say, we Christians are not to be conformed to the world socially, the world tries to absorb us into its secular society, and to conform
us to its earthly image, but Christ our lord urges not to conform.
Yes, it is true that Jesus dined with publicans and sinners, but He did not allow the social group to overwhelm Him and conform him to its
ways.
He seized every opportunity to present a spiritual truth and to lead a soul from death to life.
Christian people need to institute a spiritual revolution that shakes the very foundation of our nation.
And to let our leaders know we need to get back to our root system, which is in our Great Creator God, His Holy son Jesus Christ, and be
lead by God's Holy Spirit.
Then and only then our body, soul, and spirit will be in total harmony with our Great Creator God.
The reason certain false philosophies and religions are making such inroads in the world and "our nation" today, is that somewhere along
the lines the people left their first love as stated in Rev. 2:4.
We have failed to meet the standards and requirements that the founding leaders and Christian principles they set forth as believers in the
son of our living God, Jesus Christ.
We must reconnect to our root system in our Creator God, we must be dedicated, as committed, and as willing to sacrifice all, as some
followers of false religions are.
